Josh Wink is an American DJ specialising in creating electronic music. he owns his own lavel and produces. I remember him being hus in the '90s U.S. rave scene, leading the way with tribal 'forms' of house and techno. One famous release was I'm Ready, which hit number one in the American club play charts for dance. However, famous across the world, was his awesome track Higher State of Consciousness and was especially successful in Europe because it also had a hint of acid house and drum and bass, which were popular in the mid-90s.

Higher State of Consiousness made use of acid breaks and was aimed primarily at the techno scene. It was originally only a hit in 1995 in Britain, actually reaching number 8 on the main singles charts. The radio edit and a number of other mixes were done by other DJs a year later in 1996 and it hit the singles charts again at number 7. In 2007 it was remixed again by Dirty South, doing well in the UK dance chart but not having the same impact on the singles chart this time 2007. The video could only be seen at night fully uncensored because the nude ladies had to be edited out for day time television.
